Comparing dairy milk to non-dairy the ingredients are significantly different. For example, almond milk would have fewer calories than real milk however don't have the same vitamins and minerals. Many plant- based alternatives have different and completely new ingredients (sugar) whereas real milk contain vitamins A and D. Dairy milk is available in wider ranges for different people's requirements and taste. The primary variety of milk is low fat, reduced fat and whole milk, all are rich in nutrients.
FLAVOURED MILK
Flavoured milk is very popular and enjoyed mainly amongst children as it is full of flavour. These drinks are made from a sterilised milk and added flavouring, it is another way to get the essential nutrients while enjoying a great taste. Popular flavours include: - Banana -Chocolate -Strawberry -Vanilla
The main types of milk I would like to focus on is the flavoured milk (strawberry, banana, chocolate) and almond. I chose these as they are the most popular amongst children and mothers.
Almond milk
Almond milk is perfect for people who can't drink dairy milk and who like the taste, it is a popular alternative. This is due to it being low in calories, unsweetened almond milk contains up to 80% fewer calories compared to dairy. It is high in calcium and low in sugar. As it contains no diary it is naturally lactose-free and vegan making it a perfect alternative.
